Jennifer Rose Sciarrino is a Toronto-based artist working in sculpture, video and installation. Sciarrino's work considers the human condition and our cause/effect relationship with the living world as well as the underlying entanglement of the micro and macro within nature and technology. Pollen is a series of glass sculptures depicting an enlarged model of microscopic pollen of a hybridized species. Sciarrino has exhibited her work nationally and internationally in group exhibitions at the Jackman Humanities Institute; The Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto; The Power Plant; and solo exhibitions at 8eleven gallery and Daniel Faria Gallery. Sciarrino was awarded the 2013 Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts’ Artist Prize.
