Qendrim Hoti’s work assembles a hybrid identity through the use of consumer products, technology and mementos. His work highlights the associations attached to objects by immigrants, and explores the influences of immigration, assimilation and memory on one’s sense of identity. Hoti is a Kosovo-born artist currently living and working in Toronto. Hoti received his BFA from York University in 2014 and his MFA from OCAD University in 2017. Recent exhibitions include ESP (Toronto), queenspecific (Toronto) and Zalucky Contemporary (Toronto). He also collaborated with Esmaa Mohamoud on her project for the seminal group exhibition Every. Now. Then: Reframing Nationhood at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2017.
