Liza Eurich moves between sculpture, textiles, photography and writing, and situates her practice within an ethics of craft, labour and the space of the studio. Her practice considers visibility as it relates to mechanisms of display and to the desires for withdrawal and deferral, opening a space that refuses linear goal-oriented trajectories and the pressure to perform. Eurich holds a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2010) and an MFA from Western University (2012). She co-founded and organizes the online publication Moire, as well as the project space Support. Recently, she completed international residencies at SIM in Reykjavik and GSS in Glasgow. Eurich’s local exhibitions include at Stride, Open Studio, G Gallery and the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery.
