Ella Gonzales works between painting and computer-aided design programs, as led by her interest in space making. She explores how the negotiation and nonlinear translation between media are reflective of her own migrant experience. Gonzales is a Filipina-Canadian artist based in Guelph, Ontario. She has recently exhibited at Boarding House Gallery (Guelph) and Unit 115 (Kingston). Her work has been supported by the Tony Scherman Graduate Scholarship, Nan Yeomans Grant for Artistic Development and the Community Foundation for Kingston Area. She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Guelph.
