Daniel Langevin creates stripped-down compositions which question and critique the complexity of the visual environments within which we are evolving. Driven by a need for order and control over the image, he presents a personal re-reading of its elements, using a hard-edged style and an interest in new issues associated with digital reproduction. Langevin was born in Montreal where he still lives and works. He received a BA from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1999, and was a semifinalist for the RBC Canadian Painting Competition in 2006. His work has been in several exhibitions in Canada, and most recently in Europe.
