Ben Walmsley’s ULTRAMARINE N(i)GHT is a painting from the most recent series to emerge from his career-long exploration and analysis of colour and perception in representational painting. This latest work shows the influence of colour printing processes on his practice, and the resonant memories of the small town on the shores of Lake Ontario where he grew up. Over the course of his career, Walmsley has exhibited in galleries and museums across Canada, and has been represented by several commercial galleries in Toronto. His paintings are in numerous public, corporate and private collections in Canada and abroad. Walmsley is an artist based in Toronto.
