Joani Tremblay uses painting and sculpture to map between the abstract and the representational, the virtual and the physical and the utopian and the real. She investigates the relationship between landscape, its simulations and reproductions, and our memories of place. Tremblay’s work has been shown in solo exhibitions in Kantor (Los Angeles), Pony Sugar (Stockholm), 3331 Arts Chiyoda (Tokyo), Latitude 53 (Edmonton) and Zalucky Contemporary (Toronto). She has shown in group exhibitions in 0-0 (Los Angeles), Bucharest Art Week (Romania), Material Art Fair (Mexico City) and Parisian Laundry (Montréal). She has participated in residencies in Los Angeles, Berlin and Tokyo and in 2020 will be in residency at NARS (New York). She is a former co-director of Projet Pangée (Montréal).
