Rhonda Weppler and Trevor Mahovsky’s collaborative interdisciplinary practice is intimately tied to the joy, anxiety, history and narrative potential of objects. Weppler and Mahovsky have worked together since 2004. Both artists have MFA degrees from the University of British Columbia, where they met in 1996. Weppler and Mahovsky have shown extensively nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa); LABoral (Gijon); Dos de Mayo (Madrid); Aurora (Dallas); Vancouver Art Gallery; Flux Night (Atlanta); Art Gallery of Alberta (Edmonton); Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver); The Power Plant; Musee d’art Contemporain de Montreal; Tokyo Wonder Site; loop-raum (Berlin); Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Halifax); and Alter Space (San Francisco).
