Trevor Baird’s production is strongly based on the evolving notions of functionality, decoration and work. His silkscreen process emphasizes the value of mass production, while his works combine an elegance and functionalism through ambiguous three-dimensional forms. Folded, torn, broken and cut, the clay takes an industrial framework while retaining the human gesture. Baird holds a BFA in Ceramics from Concordia University. His work has recently been exhibited at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum (Lansing); The Hole (New York); Projet Pangée (Montreal); Arsenal (Toronto); and the Material Art Fair in 2019. In 2019, Baird was a finalist in the 2019 Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery (Waterloo). Baird currently lives and works in Montreal.
