Jasmine Reimer begins with the re-appropriation of the body, the re-valuation of its experiences, and the re-discovery of its capacity for transformation. Through sculpture she celebrate the body's silent power while developing a symbolic visual language that exemplifies a permanent cycle of “in-becoming.” Reimer studied at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (Vancouver) and the University of Guelph. Recent projects include a solo exhibition at Forest City Gallery (London, ON) and the Institut für Alles Mögliche residency (Berlin). Reimer has exhibited internationally and her work is included in private collections across Canada. She has received a number of awards including Ontario and Canada Council for the Arts project grants, funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and a Canadian Millennium Achievement Award. In September 2019 she will be attending the International Studio & Curatorial Program residency (New York).
