Holly Ward is an interdisciplinary artist working with sculpture, installation, video, and drawing as a means to examine the role of aesthetics in the formation of new social realities. Based between Toronto and Heffley-Creek BC, Ward is the founder of The Pavilion, an independent artist facility (currently being developed in collaboration with artist Kevin Schmidt) to support future-oriented artistic collaborations focused on sustainability, decolonization, and holistic adaptation to rapidly changing natural and cultural contexts. Ward has produced solo exhibitions at Artspeak, Morris and Helen Belkin Gallery UBC, Or Gallery, YYZ, MacDonald Stewart Gallery, Volta 6 (Basel), and others. She has participated in group exhibitions across Canada, Chile, England, Mexico, the US, Norway, and South Korea. Her work has been collected by the Vancouver Art Gallery, Fogo Island Arts, Scotiabank, Simon Fraser University, and various private collectors. Ward is Assistant Professor in York University’s Visual Arts program.
