Randy Grskovic’s recent work considers a certain freedom analog photography enjoys from the weight of representation, as the efficient digital image now bears this responsibility. His practice performs a re-exploration into analog photographic materials in order to create abstractions using light and time as the core content. Grskovic is an artist and collector working out of 401 Richmond in Toronto. Notable Canadian collaborations include with Gallery 44 (Toronto), Katzman Contemporary (Toronto), Equinox Gallery (Vancouver), Burrard Arts Foundation (Vancouver) and Vtape (Toronto). Grskovic has been published internationally including in periodicals such as Flaunt, Gather, Blackflash and in the edited volume The Age of Collage: Contemporary Collage in Modern Art.
